Lovely Chick

I drew this little diddy awhile ago, but recently gave her some color. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you LOVE markers, get yourself some Copic markers and some Tombow ones too... they are the BOMB!! Love them and couldn't live without them.

Also, I have been playing with pastels... messy messy messy but oh so fun.

Is it ART? Or, is it a SCRIBBLE or DOODLE?

Daisies

This is the top half of a journal page I did. Absolutely TYPICAL of what I scribble and scrawl and doodle all over my pages.....

I am doing great! I am up to a little over a mile and a half walk every day now, and will be doing two miles tomorrow. I am feeling great and looking forward to starting more projects, including (drum roll please) my JUMBO Journal. I haven't decided if it will be full watercolor sheets or folded in half, but those are sizes I'm trying to work with. HUGE!!!  How fun, I'll need to get the jumbo Sharpie markers for that!

Howdy!

I am doing great! On a personal note, surgery went good, I'm feeling better now than I have for almost two years! I am still in the 'can't vacuum, lift anything heavy stage' but I can go for walks now and build back my strength and that is wonderful!

I've also been doing a ton of reading, everything from the little newspaper at the local grocery co-op to rereading Harry Potter and The Other Boleyn Girl.

I will begin scanning in my latest doodles and scribbles for you to see as well.

Have a great day!

Scrap Journal

Hi!

I took a cue from my art journaling peers, and created another handsewn journal that measures 6.5 x 9.5, with the inside pages slightly smaller. It is made up of all the scrap pieces of watercolor and Canson paper I had in a pile. Its almost three inches in thickness and is a chunky little monster of paper, just waiting for me to start filling it with all the nonsense in my head!

ScrapJournal2

Again I covered the outside with scraps of scrapbooking paper and will start the inside decor today. I'm very excited about it. Also, as I will be laid up for a while, this will be easier to manuveur than the oversized journal I created last week. Both are my little favorites right now! :-)

Life, Surgery, and Bloggiliciousness

Hello Peoples!

So, you've probably noticed a very marked decrease in bloggiliciousness from my end of this artsy spot??? Well, I kept telling myself to keep this blog 'just art, not personal' but again with the dumb rules––––my art is PERSONAL––––so duh!!  I have not be well, and will be having surgery on June 2... the big H - hysterectomy. YUCK.

However, I will feel 285% BETTER afterward, and THAT is what I need to look forward too, not the fact that I'll never be able to have kids (irritating when a choice you once had—or thought you had is taken away from you).

In the meantime, I will try to post thoughts and doodles once I am semi-mobile again and I will try keep you updated...in all reality, my blogging and posting and yacking to ya'll is therapy for how I am feeling and I have also started a journal about that as well.

That's the deal, glockenspiel and I'll keep up as much as I can. :-)

NEW JOURNAL!!!!

Okay... drum roll please...I made a new journal. :-) I used techniques I learned at the Visual Journal Collective with Roz, Teesha Moore's techniques and some tips from Lynn Fisher....

And.. voila! Here it is!

NewJournal copy
I covered it with cool scrapbooking papers, old wallpaper and scraps I had. The Lineco Neutral pH Adhesive is the greatest glue since ModPodge. I LOVE IT. I sewed each signature into the spine with embroidery floss (all different colors) and that went great.

I really like how it lays completely flat and will have thick enough paper to take watercolor, Copic markers and anything else I decide to throw at it.

Naturally I am now thinking of my next one, a tiny bit smaller, and 3 times the paper! This one measures 11.5 x 15. The inside paper is Winsor Newton Watercolor paper, Hot Press 140 lb. 22"x30"

New Journal Page....

JournalPageJlil

Here's a new page... You probably can't see it, but the 'J' is a cardboard cutout lettered covered in glitter.... ooohhh, ahhhhh! This is a fun page, full of lots of just doodles, and I have to say, very therapautic!

Pondering

PinkTub
My next bathroom, will look like this, complete with a PINK clawfooted tub.
How wonderful! There is nothing better than a bubble bath, where you sit in swirling warmth until the water is cold! I especially love reading, with a candle lit and music playing, softly, classical or jazz.

Sometimes...

I've have been journaling journaling journaling lately, and really not so much, except on one page. Here is that page so far, and as you can see, not a lot of color yet. But I'm liking the patterning and some of my mini images.
